The Pacaya Samiria reserve is one of the largest protected natural reserves of Peru. It was established in 1982 as a natural reserve. This reserve hosts more than two million hectars of tropical Amazon forest which conserves the largest biodiversity of the planet.
Day 1-Yurimaguas -Lagunas-Posa Gloria
4:00 AM Personnel from our agency will pass by your hotel to bring you to the port of the city of Yurimaguas–here we begin our 4 hour journey down the river to the community of Lagunas, where we join our native guides. After breakfast we will take our 30 minute motor taxi ride to port Tibilo.
10:00 AM We will begin our expedition. On this day we will use artesanal boats to make the 5 hour journey down the Tibilo river to our cabin that is located in an area called Posa Gloria. Throughout our visit, we will observe native birds, watch crocodiles, fish for piranhas, as well as other activities.
Day 2: Excursion into the Reserve & spend the night in Posa Gloria
8:00 AM After breakfast we will begin our visit into the national reserve. We will use a canoe to remain mobile throughout the excursion. On this day, we will watch crocodiles, monkeys, exotic birds from the amazon, as well as fish for piranhas and other activities.
7:00 PM We will begin our night time experience to watch crocodiles, fish, and enjoy the legends of the amazon and the peace that nature brings us.
Day 3: Posa Gloria – Lagunas – Yurimaguas
5:00 AM We begin our 6 hour return trip to the Tiblio port where our transportation awaits us to go to the community of the Lagunas. This day includes lunch and our return trip to the port to continue our journey to the city of Yurimaguas.
